…How To Get The Very Best Deals
I need cheap airline tickets – I just do not have the luxury of a big budget, so to get anywhere, on vacation or to visit family, I need to search out the very best deals!
Where to Start?
The following three tips need to become your mantra if you want to get extremely cheap deals – the sort that your friends and family will find ‘jaw dropping’ when you tell them just how little you paid for your ticket!
If you can be flexible with the dates of your travel and the day of the week you travel on, you can often make big savings by traveling mid-week and avoiding the peak holiday periods. Check deals from airports other than the one closest to your home; sometimes a little extra driving can save you big bucks on the flight itself.
Don’t Count on Last Minute Deals
Last minute airfare deals get the most publicity and it is certainly true that you can bag a great bargain if a cheap deal is available to your destination at the time you want to travel. However, you have to weigh this against the possibility that you will not be able to get a deal like this when you need one and could end up paying over the odds for your ticket just because you have run out of time and there is no longer any alternative. Booking in advance is still the best option in my book, at least two weeks ahead for domestic flights and a minimum of four weeks ahead for overseas trips.
More Can Sometimes Be Less!
Even when I only need cheap airline tickets for a one-way trip, it is still a good idea to check out the return-trip flight packages. It might seem ridiculous that buying a return ticket for traveling twice the distance could possibly be cheaper than a one-way journey, it is often the case and sometimes the price difference is considerable.
So remember, make your mantra “be flexible, book early and check all fare options” – those are my three steps when I need cheap airline tickets.
